At this time of year after the brilliant autumn leaves have fallen, nature’s color palette is more subdued, more uniform in greens and browns. On my recent hikes, an exception to this are the vivid red berries of the mountain ash. The leaves are gone but the clusters of red berries draw my eye, brightening my entire field of vision and bringing a smile to my face. When we are feeling “neutral” or down, perhaps we might use nature’s example and wear something bright, bring bright flowers into our home, dress up a room with a brightly-colored ornament. Nature has much to teach us.
