The Syrian refugee crisis has been forefront of the news and our humanitarian compassion. Millions of Syrians have fled their worn-torn country, fearing for their lives. They seek safety, peace, and the chance to live without fear and disruption.
To varying degrees, how many of us feel we need to flee our lives; we feel lost, without direction, “persecuted” at work or home, worried about the economy, fearful of job loss, the falling markets. Where is our safe place, our refuge? It is coming home to our Self, to the peaceful place within. As with the Syrian refugees, it can be a challenge to get there. It takes work, practice, confidence, trust. But as the Syrians land on a safe shore, they are filled with gratitude and finally breath a sigh of relief. Their lives will now be different. Our lives will be different when we return home to Source.
